The GENOVA PRODUCTS 310257 is a Schedule 40 PVC pressure pipe rated for cold water, irrigation, and a range of residential and light commercial plumbing applications. Available in a 2.5-inch nominal diameter by 10-foot length with plain end connections on both ends, this pipe carries a pressure rating of 300 psi and meets ASTM D1785 material specifications. It is manufactured from rigid PVC and is listed to NSF standards, making it suitable for potable water service and deionized water lines. Licensed plumbers and irrigation contractors are the primary installers for this type of pipe.
This pipe is designed for cold water pressure systems, residential underground sprinkler systems, water service lines, swimming pool installations, and select chemical drainage systems. The plain end by plain end configuration allows solvent-welded connections using standard Schedule 40 PVC fittings. It is appropriate for buried and above-grade installations where operating temperatures do not exceed 73 degrees F and system pressures remain within the 300 psi rating.
Compatible with Schedule 40 PVC fittings sized for 2.5-inch nominal pipe. Suitable for cold water pressure systems, residential underground sprinkler systems, water service pipe, swimming pool installations, deionized water lines, and some chemical drainage systems as stated in product specifications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified irrigation contractor in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before cutting or joining pipe. Use a ratcheting PVC pipe cutter or fine-tooth saw to make clean, square cuts, and deburr cut ends before applying primer and solvent cement. This pipe is rated for cold water service only and must not be used in hot water or steam applications.
