The GENOVA 50257 is a lead-free CPVC reducing bushing designed for hot and cold water distribution systems. Built from Grade 1, Type 4 CPVC material, it transitions a 1.5-inch spigot connection down to a 0.75-inch slip socket, making it a direct-fit solution for reducing pipe runs without additional adapters. The spigot-by-slip end configuration allows it to seat directly into a standard CPVC socket fitting on one side while accepting a smaller CPVC pipe on the other. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this bushing using standard CPVC solvent cement per applicable code requirements. It meets CSA B137.6 and NSF/ANSI 14 and 61G standards, confirming suitability for potable water contact.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a pipe or branch line steps down in diameter within a CPVC distribution network. Typical install scenarios include domestic hot and cold supply lines, branch takeoffs at manifolds, and retrofit work where existing CPVC runs require a reduction fitting. The overall installed length of the bushing is 1.5 inches, keeping the assembly compact in tight rough-in spaces. Plumbers working on copper-to-CPVC transitions or full CPVC systems will find this a straightforward reducing solution.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard reducing fitting for 1.5-inch x 0.75-inch CPVC hot and cold water distribution piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASTM F493 solvent-cement procedures for CPVC. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting and fitting. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer — do not substitute PVC cement, as it is not rated for CPVC. Allow full cure time before restoring system pressure.
