The GENESIS CABLE 44021104 is an 18 AWG, 2-conductor solid-conductor FPLR-rated fire alarm cable supplied in a 1,000-foot box. FPLR (Fire Power Limited Riser) rating qualifies this cable for use in riser applications between floors, meeting the requirements of the National Electrical Code for power-limited fire alarm circuits. The solid conductor construction supports reliable point-to-point wiring in low-voltage fire detection and notification systems. Red jacket color provides immediate visual identification as fire alarm wiring during rough-in, inspection, and service. This cable is installed by licensed electricians and low-voltage fire alarm technicians working on commercial and residential fire protection projects.
This cable is suited for use in power-limited fire alarm circuits in both commercial and residential construction. Riser-rated installations between floors are the primary application, where the cable runs vertically through fire-rated wall cavities and conduit. It supports conventional and addressable panel wiring to initiating devices, notification appliances, and control modules. The 1,000-foot box format is designed for new construction and large retrofit projects where continuous run lengths and job-site organization are priorities for installation crews.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation cable for power-limited fire alarm systems requiring FPLR-rated 18 AWG 2-conductor solid wiring in riser applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician or certified fire alarm technician in accordance with NEC Article 760 and applicable local fire codes. De-energize the fire alarm panel and silence all supervisory circuits before making connections. FPLR cable must not be substituted for FPLP (plenum-rated) cable in plenum air-handling spaces. Verify minimum bend radius and fill ratios when routing through conduit to avoid conductor damage.
