The GENESIS CABLE 43201004 is a 12 AWG 2-conductor unshielded solid fire alarm cable rated FPLR (Riser) and supplied on a 1000-foot roll in red jacket. FPLR-rated cable is listed for use in riser applications where the cable passes between floors through penetrations and vertical runs inside a building. The solid conductor construction delivers reliable, low-resistance signal paths for fire alarm initiating circuits and notification appliance circuits. Licensed fire alarm installers and low-voltage electricians specify this cable for new construction and retrofit fire alarm system wiring where a riser-rated, unshielded solid conductor product is required by the system design and local AHJ.
This cable is used in commercial and residential fire alarm systems where FPLR-rated wiring is required by NFPA 72 and local fire codes. Typical applications include connecting smoke detectors, pull stations, horn-strobes, and control panel zones in multi-story buildings. The red jacket color is the industry-standard identifier for fire alarm circuit wiring, aiding inspection and code compliance. Electricians and fire alarm technicians use this product during rough-in and trim-out phases of construction and renovation projects requiring riser-rated fire alarm wiring.
Designed as an OEM-style riser-rated fire alarm cable for use with conventional and addressable fire alarm control panels requiring 12 AWG 2-conductor unshielded solid FPLR wiring on initiating device circuits or notification appliance circuits.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or electrician in accordance with NFPA 72, NFPA 70 (NEC Article 760), and all applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm control panel and notify the monitoring center before making any circuit connections. Maintain minimum bend radii when routing through conduit or open plenum to avoid conductor damage. All penetrations through fire-rated assemblies must be properly firestopped per the project specifications and local AHJ requirements.
