The GENESIS CABLE 43015504 is a 22 AWG 4-conductor solid unshielded fire alarm cable rated FPLR (Riser) and packaged in a 500-foot box in red. Designed for use in fire protective signaling systems, this cable meets the requirements for riser applications where the run passes vertically between floors. The solid conductor construction provides stable resistance characteristics suited for initiating device circuits, notification appliance circuits, and low-voltage control wiring in commercial and residential fire alarm installations. Licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage contractors are the primary installers of this product.
This cable is used in hardwired fire alarm systems requiring riser-rated wiring. Common applications include connecting smoke detectors, pull stations, horn-strobe devices, and control modules back to a fire alarm control panel. The red jacket color provides quick visual identification as fire alarm wiring during inspections and rough-in work. It is suited for dry, indoor riser installations run through conduit or open cable pathways where riser-rated cable is required by the local authority having jurisdiction.
Designed as an OEM-style riser-rated fire alarm cable compatible with standard 22 AWG 4-conductor wiring applications in conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed low-voltage or fire alarm contractor in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm control panel and follow the panel manufacturer lockout procedures before connecting or extending any wiring. FPLR cable may be run in risers and other vertical shaft applications but is not rated for use in plenum spaces, where FPLP-rated cable is required. Secure and support the cable at intervals required by the authority having jurisdiction and do not exceed the cable bend radius during installation.
