The GENESIS CABLE 21025807 is a 22 AWG 2-conductor stranded unshielded riser-rated security cable supplied in a 500-foot spool in brown jacket. Designed for low-voltage security and alarm system wiring, this cable runs between floors and through vertical building cavities where a CMR riser fire rating is required by code. The stranded conductor construction provides flexibility during pull-through installations in conduit or open plenum-adjacent spaces. Installers in commercial and residential security work rely on this gauge and conductor count for standard zone wiring, keypad connections, and sensor loops.
This cable is suited for low-voltage security panel installations including intrusion detection zones, door and window contact sensors, motion detector wiring, and access control signal runs. Its riser rating makes it appropriate for vertical shaft and between-floor runs in commercial buildings and multi-story residential structures. The brown jacket color aids in identification and organization in multi-cable installations or where cable color coding is part of the jobsite standard.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use low-voltage cable compatible with standard residential and commercial security alarm panel installations requiring 22 AWG 2-conductor riser-rated wiring.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or alarm systems technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. De-energize the security panel and disconnect backup battery before terminating conductors at any panel terminal block. Riser-rated cable must be used in vertical runs between floors as required by the National Electrical Code; do not substitute this cable in plenum air-handling spaces where CMP-rated cable is required. Use appropriate cable staples or J-hooks to secure runs and avoid sharp bends that can damage stranded conductors.
