The GENERAL TOOLS 124 is a super mini tubing cutter designed for cutting tubing in tight spaces where a standard cutter cannot fit. It handles tubing from 1/8 inch minimum capacity up to 1-1/8 inch maximum capacity, making it well-suited for small-diameter copper, aluminum, and thin-wall tubing commonly found in HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration work. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics reach for a tool like this when working in confined areas such as wall cavities, equipment cabinets, and cramped mechanical rooms where a full-size cutter would be unworkable.
This tubing cutter fits into residential and light commercial service scenarios where access is limited. Typical applications include cutting refrigerant lines, water supply lines, and small-bore copper tubing during installation, repair, or replacement of coils, valves, and fittings. Its compact form factor makes it a standard addition to a field service bag for any technician working with small-diameter tubing on a regular basis.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use hand tool compatible with standard copper, aluminum, and thin-wall tubing in the 1/8 inch to 1-1/8 inch outside diameter range.
Tubing cutters are used by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics. Before cutting any refrigerant line or pressurized tubing, isolate and recover refrigerant per EPA Section 608 requirements and shut off all associated system valves. Before cutting water supply lines, shut off the water supply and relieve pressure at the nearest fixture. Rotate the cutter around the tube with light, progressive pressure on the feed screw to produce a clean, square cut and avoid deforming the tubing wall.
