The General Insulation GI-79349 is a flexible fiberglass duct liner designed to insulate and acoustically treat the interior surfaces of rectangular sheet metal ductwork. Measuring 1 inch thick by 47.5 inches wide by 100 feet long, this roll format covers large runs efficiently, reducing material handling on bigger commercial and residential HVAC jobs. Duct liner of this type controls heat loss and gain inside supply and return air ducts while also attenuating airborne sound generated by fans and airflow turbulence. HVAC sheet metal mechanics and insulation contractors are the primary installers.
This duct liner is suited for installation inside rectangular galvanized sheet metal duct systems in both light commercial and residential forced-air HVAC applications. The 47.5-inch width accommodates a range of standard duct sizes, and the 100-foot roll length makes it practical for larger duct runs without mid-run seams. Typical applications include supply trunk lines, return plenums, and air handler cabinet interiors where thermal and acoustic control are both required.
Designed as an OEM-style interior liner for rectangular sheet metal ductwork in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems.
Duct liner is typically installed by licensed HVAC sheet metal mechanics in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and applicable local mechanical codes. Power down the air handling unit before working inside or adjacent to ductwork. Liner is adhered to the interior duct surface with approved duct liner adhesive and secured with mechanical fasteners per manufacturer and code requirements. Do not compress the liner beyond its rated thickness, as this reduces thermal and acoustic performance.
