The General Filters 3610 is a vacuum filter restriction indicator gauge designed to monitor filter loading on liquid fuel filtration systems. It features a 1.5-inch dial face and reads vacuum up to 30 inches of mercury (in Hg), giving technicians a clear visual reference for filter condition without removing the filter housing. The 1/8-inch male NPT connection threads directly into compatible Gar-Ber spin-on filter assemblies. The sensing element uses a copper alloy tube, and the gauge is not liquid filled, keeping the design straightforward and maintenance-free in typical fuel system environments.
This gauge is used in residential and light commercial oil-fired heating systems equipped with Gar-Ber spin-on fuel oil filters. It mounts at the filter head and provides a continuous vacuum reading that indicates when the filter element is loading up and approaching the end of its service life. HVAC and oil burner technicians typically install this gauge as part of a routine filter assembly upgrade or during a scheduled tune-up. It is well suited for any application where monitoring filter restriction is preferable to relying on fixed service intervals.
Designed for use with Gar-Ber spin-on fuel oil filters. Verify 1/8-inch MNPT port availability on the filter head before installation.
Installation is performed by licensed oil burner technicians or qualified HVAC service professionals. Shut off the fuel supply and de-energize the burner before servicing any fuel filter assembly. Use appropriate thread sealant rated for petroleum fuel service on the MNPT threads. Do not overtighten the gauge into the filter head port, as the copper alloy tube can be damaged by excessive torque.
