The General Electric pnpr45w is a 45,000-grain capacity electronic-demand-driven water softener built for residential or commercial installations where hard water treatment, iron reduction, and remote monitoring are required. It operates on a 1-inch NPT high-flow valve with a working pressure range of 20 to 125 psi and a service flow rate of 9.5 gallons per minute at a 15 psi pressure drop. The unit removes up to 165 grains per gallon of hardness and reduces clear-water iron up to 3 ppm. Built-in Wi-Fi connects to leak detection and remote water shutoff features. Installation is rated for both indoor and outdoor environments and targets licensed plumbers or experienced water treatment technicians.
This water softener is suited for residential and light-commercial applications where demand-driven regeneration reduces salt and water waste. The electronic control with capacitive touch and LED display allows programmable regeneration cycles ranging from 148 to 246 minutes. The 1.5 cubic-foot standard-mesh resin bed handles high-hardness municipal and well-water supplies. The system includes a pro installation kit and supports an optional outdoor cover accessory (model ODCOVSFT) for exposed installations. Salt storage capacity is 325 pounds, and the brine tank accommodates extended service intervals between refills.
Designed as an OEM water softener unit compatible with residential and light-commercial plumbing systems accepting up to 1-1/4-inch pipe connections. The optional outdoor cover accessory is model ODCOVSFT.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the main water supply and relieve system pressure before connecting the unit to existing supply lines. The 1-inch NPT valve requires proper thread sealing; verify inlet and outlet orientation before final connection. A 120V AC power adapter is included; connect to a grounded outlet and keep electrical connections clear of standing water.
