The GENERAL ELECTRIC nf97u090v3cr is a two-stage, high-efficiency residential gas furnace rated at 97% AFUE with an 88,000 BTU/h input and 85,000 BTU/h output. It uses a variable-speed ECM motor to deliver up to 1,200 CFM of airflow while minimizing energy consumption across heating loads. Integrated ignition eliminates a standing pilot, and the low-NOx combustion design keeps emissions below 40 ng/J. The unit is wired for 120-volt single-phase service and includes a 15-amp fuse. Licensed HVAC technicians install this furnace in residential forced-air heating systems where high seasonal efficiency and multi-stage capacity control are required.
This furnace is configured for upflow and horizontal airflow orientations, making it suitable for installation in basements, crawlspaces, closets, or attics depending on the selected orientation. The C cabinet measures 33 inches high, 21 inches wide, and 28.5 inches deep, fitting standard residential equipment spaces. The variable-speed ECM motor supports two-stage heating operation, which reduces short-cycling, lowers blower noise at part-load conditions, and improves humidity control during shoulder seasons. Compatible refrigerant types listed include R410A and R454B for matched cooling coil applications.
Compatible with matched cooling coils using R410A or R454B refrigerant. Designed as an OEM residential gas furnace for upflow and horizontal forced-air systems requiring a C-cabinet footprint.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer written instructions. Disconnect electrical power and shut off the gas supply at the manual shutoff valve before beginning any service or installation work. Venting must be configured per the appliance venting category and local IFGC requirements. Do not attempt to convert this unit to an alternate fuel type without a manufacturer-approved conversion kit.
