The GENERAL ELECTRIC nf96u110v5c is a two-stage, upflow and horizontal-flow gas furnace rated at 110,000 BTU/h with a 96% AFUE efficiency rating. It uses a variable-speed motor to modulate airflow and reduce operating noise, making it well suited for residential installations where comfort and efficiency are both priorities. The two-stage heating operation allows the unit to run at a lower capacity during mild weather and ramp up only when demand requires it, reducing short-cycling and evening out temperature distribution throughout the structure. Pre-formed flanges and crimped heat exchangers are standard construction features on this model.
This furnace is configured for upflow or horizontal airflow, giving installers flexibility when fitting the unit into different mechanical room or attic layouts. At 5-ton capacity and 110,000 BTU/h output, it is sized for larger residential applications or light commercial spaces with high heating loads. The gray cabinet finish is a standard appearance for this product line. Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians following local mechanical codes and manufacturer guidelines.
Designed as an OEM-style upflow and horizontal-flow gas furnace replacement or new installation for residential and light commercial systems requiring a 5-ton, 110,000 BTU/h, 96% AFUE heating unit.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the applicable provisions of the International Fuel Gas Code. Shut off the gas supply and disconnect electrical power before beginning any work on existing ductwork connections or venting. This is a high-efficiency condensing furnace and requires a proper condensate drain and Category IV venting materials rated for low-temperature, positive-pressure flue gas. Do not substitute venting materials not rated for this application.
