The GENERAL ELECTRIC nf96u070s3br is a single-stage, upflow and horizontal flow gas furnace rated at 96% AFUE, delivering 66,000 to 64,000 BTU/h of heating output. It is factory-equipped with a constant torque motor and comes with the RDSC board pre-installed at the factory. Designed for residential forced-air heating systems, this furnace meets low NOx emissions standards below 40 ng/J and is compatible with R410A and R454B refrigerant systems when paired with cooling equipment. Licensed HVAC technicians install and commission this unit in upflow or horizontal configurations depending on the mechanical room layout.
This furnace suits residential applications where high-efficiency gas heating is required in a B cabinet footprint. The upflow and horizontal airflow options make it adaptable to basement, closet, attic, or crawlspace installations. The factory-installed RDSC control board reduces field wiring time during installation. The 3-ton blower capacity supports pairing with a matched cooling coil for year-round comfort systems. The gray cabinet finish and compact B cabinet dimensions accommodate standard residential equipment enclosures and utility rooms.
Designed as an OEM-style residential gas furnace in a B cabinet configuration supporting upflow and horizontal installations with 3-ton blower capacity.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC). Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before beginning any service or installation work. Verify venting is sized and routed correctly for a 96% AFUE condensing furnace, which requires PVC flue and drain lines for condensate management. Do not modify the factory-installed RDSC board or associated wiring without consulting the manufacturer documentation.
