The GENERAL ELECTRIC nf96d110v5c is a two-stage downflow gas furnace rated at 110,000 BTU/h with a 96% AFUE efficiency rating. It uses a variable speed motor and Insta-Position Technology to adapt airflow to changing load conditions, reducing temperature swings and operating noise across heating cycles. Pre-formed flanges and crimped heat exchangers simplify field installation and contribute to long-term structural integrity. This unit is intended for residential or light-commercial applications where downflow duct configuration is required and high-efficiency heating is a priority. Licensed HVAC technicians perform installation and startup.
The nf96d110v5c is sized at 5 tons and delivers 110,000 BTU/h of heating capacity, making it appropriate for larger residential structures or zoned commercial spaces served by downflow air distribution systems. The two-stage burner allows the furnace to operate at a reduced stage during moderate heating demand and escalate to full capacity during peak load, improving comfort and reducing short-cycling. The variable speed ECM motor further supports efficient part-load operation.
Designed as an OEM downflow gas furnace for residential and light-commercial forced-air heating systems requiring a 5-ton, 110,000 BTU/h capacity unit with downflow air discharge.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer written instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before any service or replacement work. Downflow installations require a code-compliant combustible-floor base or non-combustible platform as specified by local authority having jurisdiction. Venting must comply with applicable fuel gas codes including the IFGC.
