The GENERAL ELECTRIC nf80u045t3a is a two-stage, upflow and horizontal-flow gas furnace rated at 45,000 BTU/h with 80% AFUE efficiency. It uses a constant torque motor for stable, quieter airflow control across both heating stages. The heat exchangers are crimped rather than welded and are backed by an extended warranty with registration. Pre-formed flanges and Insta-Position Technology are built in to simplify installation positioning. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit in residential forced-air systems where consistent two-stage heating and a compact cabinet footprint are priorities.
This furnace is configured for upflow or horizontal-flow installation, making it suitable for closet, utility room, and attic applications in residential construction. The two-stage heating operation reduces short cycling and delivers quieter part-load performance during moderate heating demand. At 3-ton airflow capacity and 45,000 BTU/h output, it is sized for small to mid-size residential zones. The gray cabinet finish and overall dimensions allow fit in standard residential furnace openings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation gas furnace for residential forced-air heating systems requiring upflow or horizontal-flow configuration at 45,000 BTU/h and 80% AFUE.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before any service or connections. Combustion air, venting, and gas line sizing must comply with the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) and applicable local amendments. Do not alter the factory-configured heat exchanger assembly or flange connections.
