The GENERAL ELECTRIC ncuu30ap4 is a 2.5-ton uncased evaporator coil in an A-coil configuration designed for upflow air handler and furnace installations. Uncased construction allows the coil to be installed inside an existing cabinet or custom enclosure, giving installing contractors flexibility in tight or non-standard equipment spaces. This coil sits on the supply side of the air handler, absorbing heat from indoor air as refrigerant passes through the coil circuit. Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians as part of a split-system cooling or heat pump setup.
The ncuu30ap4 is suited for residential split-system air conditioning and heat pump applications requiring a 2.5-ton evaporator coil. The upflow A-coil orientation makes it compatible with upflow gas furnaces and upflow air handlers where the coil mounts above the heat exchanger or blower section. The uncased design is commonly selected when the installer is fitting the coil into an existing cased cabinet or a custom fabricated plenum, which is a typical scenario in replacement and retrofit work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement uncased evaporator coil for 2.5-ton residential upflow split-system air conditioning and heat pump applications. Consult system manufacturer specifications and ARI match tables to confirm refrigerant type and system compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified HVAC technician. Shut down and recover refrigerant from the system before disconnecting any refrigerant lines, following applicable EPA and local regulations. The coil should be mounted securely within a properly sealed cabinet or plenum to prevent air bypass, which reduces system efficiency. Always leak-check all refrigerant connections after installation and verify system charge per the outdoor unit manufacturer specifications.
