The GENERAL ELECTRIC ncuc5060ct4 is a cased evaporator coil rated for 4 to 5 ton systems, configured for upflow cabinet installation. The cased design encloses the coil assembly in a factory-fabricated cabinet, simplifying installation and protecting the coil during handling and service. This component sits on the supply side of the air handler or furnace, absorbing heat from return air as refrigerant evaporates through the coil. It is a core element of a split-system air conditioning or heat pump installation and is typically handled by a licensed HVAC technician.
This evaporator coil is suited for residential or light commercial split-system cooling applications where a 4 to 5 ton capacity is required. The upflow cabinet orientation is designed to mate with upflow air handlers or furnaces where conditioned air discharges vertically through the top of the unit. The cased configuration allows for straightforward duct connections at the top and bottom of the cabinet without requiring a separate coil cabinet or field-fabricated enclosure.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation evaporator coil for upflow split-system air conditioning and heat pump systems requiring a 4 to 5 ton cased coil.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and refrigerant handling regulations under EPA Section 608. Shut down the air handler or furnace and isolate the refrigerant circuit before removing an existing coil or connecting refrigerant lines. Ensure the condensate drain pan and drain line are properly pitched and connected before startup. Do not pressurize or charge the system until all refrigerant connections are leak-tested and confirmed tight.
