The GENERAL ELECTRIC nchc60dt4 is a 5-ton cased evaporator coil designed for horizontal installation in a D-cabinet configuration. Evaporator coils absorb heat from indoor air and transfer it to the refrigerant circuit, serving as the indoor heat-exchange component of a split-system air conditioner or heat pump. The cased design protects the coil assembly and simplifies installation by providing a self-contained housing ready for duct connection. At 5 tons of cooling capacity, this coil is sized for larger residential or light-commercial applications where high-capacity airflow and heat transfer are required. Installation is handled by licensed HVAC technicians.
The nchc60dt4 is suited for horizontal air-handler or furnace-coil applications where vertical space is limited or the system layout requires a horizontal coil orientation. The D-cabinet designation identifies the coil housing width, which must be matched to the air handler or furnace cabinet dimensions during system design. This coil is typically installed in attic, closet, or utility-room air-handling systems configured for horizontal airflow. Compatible systems must be matched to the 5-ton nominal cooling capacity and the D-cabinet form factor.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation evaporator coil for 5-ton horizontal split-system air conditioners and heat pumps using a D-cabinet air handler configuration.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling certification. Disconnect and lock out electrical power to the air-handling system before beginning coil installation or replacement. Refrigerant lines must be properly evacuated and charged per the outdoor unit manufacturer specifications — do not estimate refrigerant charge. Follow local mechanical codes and the system manufacturer guidelines for drain pan, condensate line, and duct connection requirements.
