The GENERAL ELECTRIC nchc30bt4 is a 2.5-ton cased evaporator coil designed for horizontal airflow applications in split-system air conditioning and heat pump installations. Built in a B-cabinet configuration, this cased coil integrates into the indoor air handler or furnace to absorb heat from the supply air, enabling efficient cooling. Licensed HVAC technicians install this coil as part of a matched refrigerant system, connecting it to the condensing unit to complete the refrigerant circuit. The cased enclosure simplifies installation and protects the coil from damage during handling and service.
The nchc30bt4 is suited for residential horizontal installations where the air handler or furnace is positioned on its side or in an attic, crawlspace, or closet with horizontal airflow orientation. The B-cabinet sizing aligns with standard air handler and furnace cabinet dimensions commonly found in residential split-system configurations. Install this coil in horizontal applications where vertical coil orientation is not feasible or where space constraints dictate a side-discharge or horizontal discharge arrangement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation cased evaporator coil for residential horizontal split-system air conditioning and heat pump applications requiring a 2.5-ton B-cabinet coil.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and manufacturer guidelines. Shut off all electrical power to the air handler and the condensing unit before beginning coil installation or refrigerant line connections. The refrigerant system must be properly evacuated and charged by an EPA Section 608 certified technician. Ensure the coil drain pan and condensate drain lines are correctly pitched and connected before restoring power and refrigerant flow.
