The GENERAL ELECTRIC ncdc60dt4 is a 5-ton cased evaporator coil designed for downflow air handler and furnace applications. Built with aluminum alloy tube and fin construction, the coil delivers reliable heat transfer in residential and light commercial split-system cooling setups. Pre-formed flanges simplify cabinet integration and reduce fitment time during installation. At 69.35 pounds net weight, the unit is handled by a single technician with standard lifting precautions. This coil is intended for installation by licensed HVAC technicians as part of a matched split-system or package upgrade.
The ncdc60dt4 is configured for downflow airflow in a C-cabinet form factor, making it compatible with downflow furnaces and air handlers where the coil sits above the heat exchanger and air moves downward through the coil. This configuration is common in residential systems installed in closets, alcoves, or utility rooms where vertical orientation is required. The cased design provides a ready-to-install enclosure that protects the coil assembly and integrates directly with matching equipment without requiring a separate coil cabinet.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation evaporator coil for 5-ton downflow split-system and package cooling systems using a C-cabinet configuration. Verify system tonnage, refrigerant type, and cabinet dimensions against unit specifications before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and ASHRAE guidelines. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power and close the refrigerant service valves before handling the coil. Verify drain pan slope and condensate line routing before sealing the cabinet to prevent standing water. Do not pressurize or evacuate the refrigerant circuit until all connections are confirmed leak-free and the system has been properly commissioned.
