The GENERAL ELECTRIC h4txv02 is a thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) kit designed to regulate refrigerant flow in split-system HVAC equipment. The TXV meters liquid refrigerant entering the evaporator coil, maintaining the correct superheat level across a range of load conditions. This keeps the system operating efficiently and protects the compressor from liquid slugging. Rated for 3 to 3.5 ton capacity, the h4txv02 is suited for residential split-system installations where precise refrigerant metering is required. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation as part of routine system commissioning, upgrade, or repair work.
This TXV kit is intended for use in 3 to 3.5 ton split-system applications. It is appropriate for new installations, system retrofits where an older fixed orifice metering device is being upgraded to a TXV, or direct replacement of a failed expansion valve. The kit format provides the components needed to complete the installation in a single service call, reducing return trips.
Designed as an OEM-style TXV replacement or upgrade for residential split-system HVAC equipment in the 3 to 3.5 ton capacity range.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding an EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling certification. Recover all system refrigerant before opening the refrigerant circuit. Follow the equipment manufacturer's service manual for brazing procedures, leak testing, evacuation targets, and refrigerant recharge quantities. Do not reuse recovered refrigerant without proper reclamation.
