The GENERAL ELECTRIC ash118prdbb is a single-zone ductless mini-split outdoor heat pump unit from the Altitude Series, designed for residential and light-commercial applications requiring reliable heating and cooling without ductwork. It operates on 208-230 volts, 60 Hz, single phase, and delivers a cooling rated capacity of 17,000 BTU/h. The DC inverter-driven rotary compressor allows variable-speed operation, reducing energy consumption compared to fixed-speed compressors. A blue fin coil coating and base pan heater are included as standard equipment, supporting low-ambient heating operation down to -15 degrees F. Licensed HVAC technicians install and commission this unit as part of a matched split system.
This outdoor unit is intended for single-zone ductless mini-split installations in residential settings where conditioned space cannot be served by a ducted system. It is compatible with the ASYW18PRDBB indoor unit. Maximum line length between the indoor and outdoor sections is 83 feet, and maximum height differential is 50 feet, giving installers flexibility on longer line set runs. The cooling operating temperature range is 14 to 115 degrees F, and the heating operating temperature range extends from -15 to 75 degrees F, making the system suitable for cold-climate installations.
Designed for use with the ASYW18PRDBB indoor unit as part of the 18K Altitude Series single-zone matched system.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding an EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling certification. Shut off and lock out all electrical power to the system before making any electrical or refrigerant connections. Refrigerant line sets use flare fittings; follow the manufacturer's line set length and height differential limits to ensure proper system operation. Local mechanical and electrical codes, including NEC requirements for minimum circuit ampacity and maximum fuse sizing, apply to this installation.
