The GEARWRENCH 86747 is a 5/8 inch combination wrench built for professional fastener work across mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades. It pairs an open-end jaw on one side with a 12-point box end on the other, giving techs flexibility on bolt heads and nuts in tight or open spaces. The wrench is forged from alloy steel and finished in polished chrome, which resists corrosion and makes surface contamination easy to wipe off. At 7.2 inches in length and 0.49 pounds, it fits comfortably in a standard tool pouch without adding bulk to a kit.
This wrench is suited for residential and light commercial service work where 5/8 inch fasteners are common — including condenser unit hardware, pipe flange bolts, panel mounting hardware, and general mechanical assemblies. The 12-point box end engages fasteners at 30-degree intervals, which is useful when swing arc is limited. It works equally well on the bench or in the field and is sized for single-hand use on standard hex fasteners.
Designed for use on standard 5/8 inch SAE hex fasteners found across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical applications.
Use the box end when torque application or fastener condition requires full engagement around the hex. Use the open end for faster spinning in accessible areas. Inspect the wrench for cracks or deformation before use on high-torque fasteners. Do not use a cheater bar or extension on a hand wrench to increase leverage.
