The GEARWRENCH 84585N is a 27mm, 6-point impact socket designed for 1/2 inch drive impact wrenches and rattle guns. Built from chromium-molybdenum steel with a black oxide finish, it is engineered to handle the high-torque demands of automotive, fleet, and industrial fastening work. The off-corner loading geometry reduces fastener rounding under impact, and high-visibility laser-etched size markings allow fast identification in a tool tray or socket rail. A secondary hard-stamped size marking provides a permanent backup if the etching wears. This socket meets ASME B107.33M standards and carries a lifetime warranty.
This socket is suited for professional mechanics, fleet technicians, and trade pros who work with metric fasteners in automotive drivetrain, suspension, and chassis applications, as well as general industrial assembly. The 27mm size is commonly encountered on lug nuts, axle hardware, and heavy equipment fasteners. At 3.23 inches in length and 0.94 pounds, it provides sufficient reach for recessed fasteners without adding excessive weight to the kit. It is sold individually and is intended for use with 1/2 inch drive pneumatic, electric, or cordless impact tools.
Designed as a metric impact socket for use with standard 1/2 inch drive impact wrenches, extensions, and adaptors. Compatible with 1/2 inch drive pneumatic, cordless, and corded electric impact tools.
Seat the socket fully onto the impact tool anvil and confirm the detent pin or retaining ring is engaged before applying torque. Power down or disconnect the impact tool before changing sockets. Do not use impact sockets on hand-torque tools such as torque wrenches without confirming the socket is rated for that application. Inspect for cracks or deformation before each use and replace any socket showing visible wear or damage.
