The GEARWRENCH 84576N is a deep, 6-point impact socket designed for heavy-duty fastener removal and installation in professional trade environments. Built from chromium-molybdenum steel with a black oxide finish, this socket handles the high-torque output of 1/2 inch drive impact wrenches without deforming under load. The 18mm hex drive size and deep-length profile make it well suited for reaching recessed fasteners and hardware with extended bolt threads. High-visibility laser-etched size markings allow for quick identification in a busy tool bag or socket rail, and secondary hard-stamped markings provide a backup reference if surface markings wear.
This socket is intended for use in residential and commercial mechanical applications where 1/2 inch drive impact tools are standard equipment. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and general mechanical contractors commonly reach for an 18mm impact socket when working on equipment mounting hardware, flange bolts, and structural fasteners. The deep-length design is particularly useful when clearing wheel studs, long machine bolts, or similar fasteners that a standard-length socket cannot fully engage. The off-corner loading geometry reduces the risk of rounding fastener heads during high-torque impact use.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement and general-use impact socket compatible with 1/2 inch drive impact wrenches and ratchets using the metric 18mm fastener size.
Installation and removal should be performed by a qualified tradesperson using a 1/2 inch drive impact wrench or breaker bar. Verify the socket is fully seated on the fastener before applying torque to prevent slippage. Do not use impact sockets with hand-ratchet torque tools beyond their rated capacity, and never use standard chrome sockets in place of impact-rated sockets with pneumatic or electric impact tools. Inspect the socket for cracks or deformation before each use.
