The GEARWRENCH 80675 is a deep hand socket designed for 1/2 inch square drive ratchets and breaker bars. It accepts a 1-1/16 inch fastener with a 6-point hex contact pattern, which reduces rounding on worn or corroded hex fasteners compared to 12-point designs. The socket is machined from alloy steel and finished in chrome plating for corrosion resistance. At 3.031 inches in overall length, it provides the clearance needed to reach fasteners recessed in deep bores, flanges, or behind obstructions. Mechanics, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians reach for this socket when standard-depth sockets cannot engage the full fastener depth.
This socket suits general mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC service applications where 1-1/16 inch fasteners appear on equipment frames, pipe flanges, structural connections, and large-diameter fittings. The deep length profile is especially useful on threaded rod, long bolt shanks, and recessed nuts common in equipment installation and mechanical room work. It is tether-capable for use in elevated work areas where dropped-tool protocols are in effect.
Designed for use with standard 1/2 inch drive ratchets, breaker bars, torque wrenches, and extensions. Accepts 1-1/16 inch SAE hex fasteners. Compatible with any 1/2 inch square drive tool.
This socket is installed and removed by hand as part of normal socket wrench operation. Ensure the drive tool is rated for the torque demands of the fastener before applying force. Inspect the socket for cracks or deformation before use, and retire any socket showing signs of stress fracturing. When using in elevated or confined spaces, attach a tether to the tether-capable lug to comply with dropped-object safety requirements.
