The GEARWRENCH 80619 is a deep hand socket designed for 1/2 inch drive ratchets and breaker bars. It features a 13/16 inch socket size with a 6-point hex drive profile, providing full contact on fastener flats to reduce rounding under torque. Constructed from alloy steel with a chrome-plated finish, the socket measures 3.031 inches in overall length, making it well-suited for reaching deeply recessed fasteners that standard-length sockets cannot access. This socket is tether capable, which is useful in environments where dropped-tool hazards are a concern.
This socket is used across a range of trade applications including HVAC equipment service, plumbing rough-in, electrical panel and equipment installation, and general mechanical work where a 1/2 inch drive tool is the appropriate torque-delivery size. The deep length profile suits applications such as hex-head fasteners on equipment enclosures, structural connections, and machinery. The 6-point geometry is preferred by professionals over 12-point designs when working with worn or tight fasteners where slippage would cause damage or injury.
Designed for use with any standard 1/2 inch square drive ratchet, torque wrench, breaker bar, or extension. Rated for SAE fastener sizes per ASME B107.1.
This socket is installed and removed by hand on any compatible 1/2 inch drive tool — no special tools required for the socket itself. Always ensure the square drive detent fully engages the socket before applying torque to prevent unexpected disengagement. When working near energized equipment, confirm all circuits are de-energized and locked out per applicable safety procedures before use. Tether-capable sockets should be rigged with an appropriate tool lanyard when working at height.
