The GEARWRENCH 80618 is a 6-point deep hand socket designed for use with a 1/2 inch drive ratchet or breaker bar. Built from alloy steel with a chrome-plated finish, it accepts 3/4 inch fasteners and provides the extended reach needed to seat fully onto recessed or studdedbolts, deep-set nuts, and threaded fasteners that a standard-depth socket cannot fully engage. The overall length of 3.031 inches makes it well suited for applications where clearance is limited above the fastener but depth below is required. The 6-point contact geometry reduces the risk of rounding fastener flats compared to 12-point designs.
This socket is a practical fit for automotive, mechanical, and industrial maintenance tasks where deep-reach access is routinely needed. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and equipment service pros will find it useful when working on pipe flanges, equipment mounting hardware, and panel fasteners. It is tether-capable, supporting use in environments where dropped-tool prevention is required. Meets ANSI and ASME B107.1 standards as well as SAE specifications, making it appropriate for professional service work.
Designed for use with any standard 1/2 inch drive ratchet, breaker bar, torque wrench, or extension. Fits 3/4 inch SAE hex fasteners.
Install and remove using a 1/2 inch drive ratchet, breaker bar, or torque wrench. Ensure the socket is fully seated on the fastener before applying torque to prevent slippage or fastener damage. Inspect the socket and drive tool for cracks or wear before use, and do not use impact-rated drive tools unless the socket is rated for impact service.
