The GEARWRENCH 80595 is a deep hand socket designed for 3/8 inch drive ratchets and breaker bars. It features a 1 inch socket size and a 12-point configuration, allowing engagement with fasteners from multiple positions and reducing the need to reposition during use. Constructed from alloy steel with a chrome-plated finish, it resists corrosion and wear under regular shop conditions. At 2.5 inches overall length, the deep profile provides the clearance needed to reach recessed or stud-mounted fasteners that a standard-depth socket cannot access. This socket meets ANSI and ASME B107.5M standards and carries a lifetime limited warranty.
This socket is suited for automotive, fleet, and mechanical service work where access to deeply seated fasteners is required. Typical applications include engine bay work, suspension components, wheel studs, and any fastener location where a shallow socket would bottom out before seating fully. The tether-capable design makes it appropriate for work environments where dropped-tool protocols are in place, such as elevated platforms or overhead work. It is an SAE-sized tool intended for inch-based fastener systems.
Designed for use with standard 3/8 inch drive ratchets, extensions, and breaker bars. Compatible with 1 inch SAE fasteners in applications requiring deep socket clearance.
Verify that the drive tool and socket are fully engaged before applying torque to avoid slippage or rounding of fasteners. Ensure the fastener size matches the socket before use — a loose fit indicates a size mismatch. Inspect the socket for cracks or deformation before each use and remove from service if damaged. Do not use impact drivers with this hand socket unless the tool is explicitly rated for impact use.
