The GEARWRENCH 80421 is a hand hex bit socket designed for 3/8 inch drive ratchets, breaker bars, and extensions. It accepts a 3/8 inch hex fastener and delivers the torque transfer needed for tight-access bolts, set screws, and hex-head fasteners common in HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical assemblies. Constructed from steel with a chrome finish, the socket measures 1-55/64 inches overall length with a bit length of 1.181 inches. The chrome finish resists corrosion and makes the socket easy to wipe clean in field conditions. This size is a staple in service kits for HVAC technicians, plumbers, and general mechanical tradespeople.
The GEARWRENCH 80421 is suited for residential and light commercial service work where 3/8 inch hex fasteners appear on equipment panels, fan assemblies, valve packing glands, and similar hardware. Its compact overall length makes it manageable in confined spaces around equipment cabinets and mechanical rooms. It is sold individually and is appropriate as a replacement for a worn or missing socket in an existing set or as a standalone addition to a job-specific kit.
Designed as an OEM-style hand socket compatible with standard 3/8 inch square drive tool systems. Fits any 3/8 inch drive ratchet, extension, or torque wrench following ANSI and ASME square drive specifications.
Install and remove using a 3/8 inch drive ratchet or torque wrench rated for the fastener specification. Before servicing any equipment, de-energize electrical systems per NFPA 70E lockout/tagout procedures and shut off fluid or gas supply as applicable. Do not use impact drivers with this hand socket unless the socket is rated for impact use. Inspect the socket for cracks or worn hex geometry before applying torque.
