The GATOR GRIP 20121 is a self-adjusting socket designed to grip fasteners of varying sizes without requiring a dedicated socket for each size. It uses a spring-loaded pin mechanism that conforms to the fastener head, providing a secure drive engagement across both SAE and metric sizes. The 20121 fits a 3/8 inch drive ratchet and covers a working range of 1/4 to 3/4 inch and 7 to 19 mm, making it a practical single-socket solution for technicians working across mixed fastener standards. This tool is used by HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, and general trade professionals who regularly encounter varied fastener sizes on service calls.
The GATOR GRIP 20121 is suited for residential and light commercial maintenance applications where fastener sizes vary across equipment panels, access covers, and mechanical assemblies. It is particularly useful in field service environments where carrying a full socket set is impractical. The 6-point contact geometry provides a stable grip on hex fasteners in both SAE and metric standards within the stated range.
Compatible with 3/8 inch drive ratchets, breaker bars, and extensions. Fits hex fasteners ranging from 1/4 to 3/4 inch (SAE) and 7 to 19 mm (metric).
Use with a 3/8 inch drive ratchet or torque wrench. Ensure the fastener head is fully seated within the socket pins before applying rotational force to prevent fastener rounding. Inspect the pin mechanism periodically for debris or corrosion, which can affect adjustability. Not intended for impact driver use unless the tool is rated for impact application.
