The GATOR 9648 is a Type 27 depressed-center cut-off and grinding wheel designed for use on angle grinders. Built with industrial-grade silicon carbide abrasive, it handles heavy-duty cutting, grinding, and deburring on masonry, concrete, and similar hard materials. The wheel measures 7 inches in diameter with a 1/4-inch thickness and a 5/8-inch-11 arbor bore. Double reinforcement construction extends wheel life and supports faster material removal. It is suited for low-angle and vertical grinding positions, making it a practical choice for tile setters, masons, concrete contractors, and general construction trades.
This wheel is intended for masonry and concrete applications where a durable, silicon carbide abrasive is required. Typical use cases include cutting block, brick, and stone, as well as grinding down mortar joints or deburring rough edges on cast concrete. The Type 27 depressed-center profile provides clearance during flat and vertical surface work. It fits standard angle grinders with a 5/8-inch-11 spindle thread, which is the common thread found on most 7-inch angle grinders used in construction and masonry trades.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or consumable for angle grinders equipped with a 5/8-inch-11 spindle thread and accepting a 7-inch Type 27 wheel.
Angle grinder wheels must be installed and changed by operators familiar with ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheels. Always power down the grinder and disconnect it from the power source before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and never exceed the maximum RPM marked on the wheel. Wear appropriate PPE including a face shield, gloves, and hearing protection during operation.
