The GATOR 9640 is a Type 1 flat-profile masonry cut-off wheel sized at 7 inches in diameter, 1/8 inch thick, with a 5/8-inch arbor bore. Built for industrial-grade cutting and chopping of masonry and related materials, it is fiberglass reinforced throughout to handle the stress of high-speed rotation. Weighing in at 0.365 pounds, the wheel is light enough for extended overhead or vertical cuts without adding unnecessary fatigue to the operator. Masonry contractors, tile setters, and general construction tradespeople are the primary users of this consumable abrasive accessory.
This cut-off wheel is suited for dry cutting applications on masonry substrates including concrete block, brick, mortar, and similar materials. The Type 1 flat configuration is compatible with standard angle grinders and cut-off saws equipped with a 5/8-inch arbor. Its 1/8-inch kerf strikes a balance between cutting speed and material removal, making it practical for both rough demolition chopping and controlled straight cuts in the field.
Designed for use with angle grinders and cut-off saws fitted with a 5/8-inch arbor accepting 7-inch Type 1 abrasive wheels.
Installation and use of abrasive cut-off wheels should follow ANSI B7.1 safety standards and the tool manufacturer's maximum RPM rating — never mount a wheel on a tool whose rated speed exceeds the wheel's maximum RPM. Power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and discard any damaged wheel immediately. Always use the appropriate guard and personal protective equipment including eye and face protection when operating cut-off wheels.
