The GATOR 9619 is a Type 27 depressed-center cut-off and grinding wheel designed for heavy-duty metal cutting, grinding, and deburring on angle grinders. Built from industrial-grade silicon carbide, this wheel measures 4.5 inches in diameter with a 0.25-inch thickness and a 5/8 inches-11 arbor fit. Double reinforcement construction extends wheel life and supports faster, more aggressive cuts compared to standard single-layer wheels. Licensed trade professionals and skilled metalworkers reach for this wheel when consistent performance through heavy stock removal is required.
This wheel is suited for use on corded and cordless angle grinders in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and jobsite metalwork applications. Its Type 27 profile — with a raised hub — makes it well-suited for low-angle and vertical grinding passes where a flat Type 1 wheel would not provide adequate clearance. It is commonly used on structural steel, pipe, sheet metal, and other ferrous materials requiring cut-off or surface grinding work.
Designed for use on angle grinders with a 5/8 inches-11 arbor and a minimum 4.5-inch wheel capacity rating.
Installation and wheel changes must be performed by a qualified operator with the grinder unplugged or the power source locked out. Verify the grinder spindle speed rating meets or exceeds the maximum RPM marked on the wheel before mounting. Use the appropriate flange and locking nut for a Type 27 wheel and confirm the wheel seats flush against the backing flange before operation. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and a face shield when operating abrasive wheels.
