The GATOR 9612 is a Type 27 masonry cut-off wheel designed for use on angle grinders in heavy-duty cutting, grinding, and deburring operations. Built from industrial-grade silicon carbide, this wheel measures 4.5 inches in diameter, 0.125 inches thick, with a 0.875-inch arbor bore. The double-reinforced construction extends wheel life and supports faster cuts through masonry and similar hard materials. Masonry contractors, tile setters, and general construction tradespeople rely on this wheel for demanding fieldwork where consistent performance matters.
This wheel is suited for residential and commercial masonry applications where angle grinders are the primary tool. It performs well in low-angle and vertical grinding positions, making it practical for cutting brick, block, concrete, and similar masonry substrates. The Type 27 depressed-center profile provides clearance for flush and near-flush cutting in confined areas.
Designed for use on angle grinders accepting a 4.5-inch Type 27 wheel with a 0.875-inch arbor bore.
Wheel mounting and use should follow ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheels. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before mounting and confirm the grinder's rated RPM meets or exceeds the wheel's maximum RPM rating. Wear appropriate PPE including face shield and gloves during operation. Never exceed the rated speed of the wheel or use it for operations outside its intended design.
