The GATOR 4255 is a precut drywall sanding screen designed for sanding and finishing drywall joint compound. Built on an open-mesh, waterproof substrate with silicon carbide abrasive, the screen resists clogging during use and carries grit on both sides, extending the usable life of each sheet. Each sheet measures 4-3/8 inches x 11 inches and fits standard drywall sanding poles and hand blocks. The 25-sheet box suits professional drywall finishers, plasterers, and general contractors working through multi-room or multi-unit finishing schedules.
The 4255 is rated at 220 grit, placing it in the fine-finishing range appropriate for final coats of joint compound before priming. Beyond drywall, the silicon carbide abrasive works on wood, metal, plastic, and auto body filler, making these screens useful across finishing trades and light autobody work. The waterproof construction allows wet or dry sanding where the application calls for it.
Designed for use with standard drywall sanding poles, hand blocks, and pole-sander heads that accept precut sanding sheets in the 4-3/8 inches x 11 inches format.
Drywall sanding screens are typically used by drywall finishers and painters during the finishing phase after joint compound has fully cured. Ensure adequate dust control measures are in place, as fine drywall dust is a respiratory hazard — use a properly rated respirator and provide ventilation. When mounting screens on a pole sander, secure all four edges to prevent tearing during use. Inspect each screen before use and replace when abrasive loading reduces cut rate.
