The GATOR 4230 is a coarse-grit sandpaper sheet designed for material removal and surface preparation on bare wood. Rated at 50 grit, these 9-inch by 11-inch sheets use a resin-bond coating that holds abrasive longer than standard glue-bond sandpaper, reducing sheet replacement frequency on extended jobs. Each box contains 25 sheets. Woodworkers, cabinetmakers, and finish carpenters reach for this grade when leveling rough lumber, removing mill marks, or knocking down high spots before stepping up to finer grits.
This sandpaper is suited for hand-sanding blocks and compatible with standard sheet sanders used in fine woodworking, cabinet shop work, and job-site millwork prep. The 9-by-11-inch format is a universal sheet size that trims easily to fit most palm and orbital sheet-sander pads, or folds for hand-block use. It performs on softwoods, hardwoods, and raw MDF surfaces where aggressive stock removal is needed before finer finishing stages.
Designed for use on bare wood surfaces including softwoods, hardwoods, and raw MDF. The standard 9-by-11-inch sheet size is compatible with most sheet-style sanding blocks and quarter-sheet or half-sheet pad sanders that accept cut-to-fit abrasive sheets.
Woodworkers and finish carpenters install and replace these sheets by hand or with standard sheet-loading sander mechanisms — no tools required. Work in a well-ventilated area and wear appropriate respiratory protection when sanding, as fine wood dust is a respiratory hazard. Progress through grit sequences rather than skipping grits to avoid deep scratch patterns that finer grits cannot remove efficiently. Dispose of used sheets in accordance with local waste guidelines, particularly when sanding treated or painted wood.
