The GASOILA FT28 is a hard-set pipe thread sealant designed to seal threaded pipe joints against leaks in a wide range of industrial and mechanical systems. This red-colored compound fills thread voids and cures to create a rigid, pressure-resistant seal. It is supplied in a 1-gallon can, making it well suited for high-volume shop use or job sites where large quantities of pipe connections are assembled. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians are the typical installers. The FT28 formula performs across a working temperature range of -60 degrees F to 350 degrees F, covering most residential, commercial, and light industrial piping applications.
Federal Gasoila Hard-Set sealant is applied to male pipe threads before joint assembly. It is commonly used on gas lines, water lines, steam lines, and hydraulic systems where a permanent, non-removable thread seal is required. The 1-gallon container size supports production plumbing shops, mechanical contractors, and service companies that run high thread-count installations. Apply to clean, dry threads in accordance with applicable codes such as the International Fuel Gas Code or International Plumbing Code for the system type being serviced.
Designed as an OEM-style thread sealant for use on standard threaded pipe joints across gas, plumbing, and mechanical piping systems.
Thread sealant should be applied by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified mechanical technician in accordance with local code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembling any existing joint. Apply the compound evenly to clean, dry male threads and allow adequate cure time before pressurizing the system. Do not use on plastic fittings or flare-type connections unless the sealant manufacturer explicitly confirms compatibility.
