The GARDNER BENDER PS-175BG is a polyethylene cable staple designed to secure NM, UF, and other NM-type cables up to 3-conductor No. 10 gauge. Each staple is molded from high-grade UV-resistant polyethylene that resists rot, rust, and degradation from temperature extremes and prolonged sunlight exposure. The two zinc-plated nails drive simultaneously without splitting the wood substrate, and the nail heads recess flush into the staple body to minimize surface exposure. This 175-count pack is a standard consumable for residential electrical rough-in work performed by licensed electricians.
These cable staples are suited for securing NM and UF cable runs along framing members, joists, and studs in residential and light commercial construction. Typical applications include new construction rough-in, service upgrades, and retrofit wiring where cable must be fastened at code-required intervals. The UV-resistant material also makes them appropriate for installations in unconditioned spaces, crawlspaces, and exterior-adjacent framing where temperature swings and moisture are concerns.
Designed for use with NM, UF, and other NM-type cables up to 3-conductor No. 10 gauge secured to wood framing members in residential and light commercial electrical installations.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians following NEC requirements for cable stapling intervals and support. De-energize all circuits in the work area before running or securing cable. Drive nails with a hammer in a single controlled strike to seat both nails evenly and avoid cracking the staple body. Do not overtighten or use a power nailer unless the tool is rated for insulated cable staples, as excess force can damage cable insulation.
