The GARDNER BENDER HST-187 is a polyolefin heat shrink tubing designed to insulate, protect, and seal wire connections and cable ends in electrical applications. Rated at 600 volts per mil dielectric strength, it features a 2-to-1 shrink ratio, contracting to half its original diameter when heat is applied. Each piece measures 3/16 inch in diameter and 4 inches in length. Electricians and low-voltage technicians use this tubing to create clean, durable insulation on wire splices, cord repairs, tool handle grips, rope loop ends, and similar field tasks.
This heat shrink tubing is suited for residential and commercial electrical work where a reliable, heat-applied insulating sleeve is needed. It applies to cord repair, wire bundling, and strain relief finishing. The polyolefin material provides flexibility and consistent shrink performance across a range of wire gauges that fit the 3/16 inch pre-shrink diameter. It is sold individually and packaged with a minimum quantity of 6 pieces per order.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style heat shrink sleeve for electrical wiring, cord repair, and cable management applications where a 3/16 inch pre-shrink diameter and 4 inch length are appropriate.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or low-voltage technicians following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize all circuits before applying heat shrink tubing to any wiring. Use a heat gun set to an appropriate temperature for polyolefin material and apply heat evenly around the tubing to ensure uniform shrinkage. Avoid open flame as a heat source, as it may damage the tubing or underlying insulation.
