The GARDNER BENDER GC-375 is a high-leverage cable cutter built for clean, single-handed cuts on soft copper and aluminum cable. At 8 inches in length, this tool handles up to 2/0 AWG conductors — a common cut size in residential and light commercial electrical rough-in and service work. The compound-leverage design reduces hand strain during repetitive cutting, making it practical for electricians working through runs of THHN, USE-2, or similar soft-strand cable. Weighing under 1 pound at 0.934 pounds, it stays manageable through a full shift on the job.
The GC-375 suits electrical contractors, service electricians, and apprentices performing cable terminations, panel feeders, and conduit pulls where clean, deformation-free cuts are required. The single-handed operation is especially useful in confined spaces such as panel boxes, junction boxes, and wire troughs where two-hand tool use is impractical. It is appropriate for use on soft copper and aluminum conductors only — not for cutting ACSR, steel messenger, or hardened wire.
Designed for cutting soft copper and aluminum cable up to 2/0 AWG. Not rated for steel, ACSR, or armored cable.
Installation of this tool requires no special setup, but all conductors should be de-energized and properly locked out before cutting. Follow NFPA 70E arc flash and shock protection requirements when working near energized equipment. Use only on conductor types within the rated capacity — exceeding the 2/0 AWG soft-cable limit may damage the tool or result in incomplete cuts. Inspect the cutting blades for nicks or misalignment before each use.
