The G E LIGHTING 97573 is a 13-watt compact fluorescent Biax bulb with a 2-pin GX23 base, designed as an energy-efficient replacement for linear or compact fluorescent fixtures in commercial and residential applications. Operating at 2700 Kelvin, it produces a warm white light output of 825 lumens with a color rendering index of 82. Rated for 10,000 hours of service life, the 97573 carries an Energy Star rating and meets TCLP compliance standards. The nominal length is 7 inches, making it a direct physical fit for fixtures designed around this lamp class. Licensed electricians and lighting maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
This bulb is suited for downlights, wall sconces, task fixtures, and commercial retrofit applications that call for a GX23-based 2-pin compact fluorescent lamp. The 2700K color temperature makes it appropriate for hospitality, office breakrooms, residential hallways, and similar occupied spaces where warm-tone lighting is preferred. The minimum starting temperature of 32 degrees Fahrenheit limits its use to conditioned or semi-conditioned spaces. It is sold in a boxed configuration and the unit of measure is EA with a package quantity of 10.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for fixtures that accept a GX23 2-pin base compact fluorescent lamp rated at 13 watts.
De-energize the fixture and allow the existing lamp to cool before removal. Align the 2-pin base with the GX23 socket and press in until seated. Verify fixture ballast compatibility with a 13W Biax lamp before installation. This lamp has a minimum starting temperature of 32 degrees Fahrenheit and should not be installed in unheated outdoor or unenclosed cold-environment fixtures.
