The G E LIGHTING 93130865 is an 8-foot, 43-watt LED T8 tube lamp designed for direct-wire (Type B) fluorescent fixture retrofits. It delivers 5500 lumens from a glass T8 envelope with an Fa8 single-pin base. A three-way color temperature switch built into the bulb body lets the installer select 4000K, 5000K, or 6500K output on the fixture without swapping lamps. The lamp is non-dimmable and carries a rated life of 50000 hours, making it a practical choice for commercial, industrial, and high-bay applications where long service intervals matter. Each package contains 2 lamps.
This tube is intended for 8-foot single-pin fluorescent fixtures that have been relamped or rewired for direct-wire LED operation. Typical applications include warehouse aisles, parking structures, retail back-of-house spaces, shop lighting, and institutional corridors. Because this is a Type B direct-wire lamp, the ballast in the host fixture must be bypassed before installation. It is not a plug-and-play ballast-compatible lamp. Licensed electricians and qualified lighting maintenance technicians handle this type of retrofit work.
Designed as a direct-wire Type B replacement for 8-foot single-pin fluorescent T8 fixtures using Fa8 base tombstone sockets. The existing fluorescent ballast must be removed and the fixture rewired for line-voltage direct-wire operation prior to installation.
This lamp requires a licensed electrician to bypass and remove the fluorescent ballast before the fixture is relamped, in accordance with NEC guidelines for luminaire modification. Disconnect and lock out power to the fixture at the branch-circuit breaker before beginning any wiring work. Verify that the tombstone sockets are Fa8 single-pin type and rated for the line voltage being applied. Do not attempt to install this lamp in a ballast-driven or instant-start ballast-compatible circuit — doing so may damage the lamp or create a safety hazard.
