The G E LIGHTING 37168 is a 15-watt T8 glass LED light bulb designed as a direct replacement for linear fluorescent lamps in commercial and residential lighting fixtures. Each pack contains two 4-foot (48 inches maximum overall length) bi-pin base bulbs that deliver 1,500 lumens at a 4,000 Kelvin color temperature. The bulb is dimmable and carries a rated life of 36,000 hours, making it a durable, long-term retrofit for facilities looking to reduce lamp replacement frequency. Licensed electricians and lighting maintenance technicians handle this type of installation in offices, warehouses, retail spaces, and institutional buildings.
This bulb is engineered for use with existing electronic T8 ballasts and existing T12 electronic and electro-magnetic ballasts, eliminating the need to replace the ballast during a fluorescent-to-LED retrofit. It is equivalent in output to a 32-watt T8 or a 40-watt T12 linear fluorescent lamp, delivering meaningful wattage reduction. The 4,000 Kelvin neutral-white output suits task lighting environments such as offices, classrooms, and commercial kitchens. The bulb is rated for damp locations and carries a DCL rating, making it suitable for covered outdoor or humid indoor applications.
Designed for use with existing electronic T8 ballasts and existing T12 electronic and electro-magnetic ballasts. Compatible with standard bi-pin fluorescent fixtures accepting 4-foot T8 or T12 linear lamps.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. Always de-energize the fixture and verify zero voltage at the socket before handling the lamp or ballast connections. Confirm ballast type and compatibility before installing — using this lamp with an incompatible ballast may result in reduced performance or lamp failure. Do not install in fully enclosed, non-damp-rated, or direct-sunlight-exposed fixtures unless the fixture is rated for such use.
