The FROST KING H591FS/3 is an extruded aluminum carpet transition bar designed to join carpet to vinyl tile, wood, or other flooring surfaces of a lower height. At 1.375 inches wide with a silver finish, it provides a clean, durable seam between floor coverings where elevation changes occur. Screw nails are included for installation. This bar is suited for residential and light commercial flooring transitions and is typically installed by flooring contractors or skilled trade professionals handling finish work.
The H591FS/3 is used where carpet meets a lower-height hard surface flooring material such as vinyl tile or hardwood. It is appropriate for doorways, room thresholds, and open floor plan transitions. For installation on concrete substrates, the manufacturer recommends drilling a pilot hole, inserting a 3/16 x 1.25 inch or 0.25 x 1.25 inch wood dowel, and driving the included screw nails into the dowel to expand and lock it in place. This technique provides a secure mechanical anchor without requiring adhesive alone.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard transition solution for residential and light commercial flooring installations where carpet meets a lower-profile hard surface floor covering.
Installation should be performed by a qualified flooring professional or experienced tradesperson. Power down any motorized floor tools and clear the work area before cutting or fastening. On concrete surfaces, drill a pilot hole sized for a wood dowel before driving screw nails to ensure a secure hold. Always follow local building codes and flooring manufacturer guidelines for transition strip placement and fastening.
