The FRIEDRICH VRPXEMWRTB4 is a wireless energy management wall thermostat with an integrated occupancy sensor, designed for commercial and multi-dwelling HVAC applications. It uses a combination of thermal and motion-sensing technology to detect room occupancy accurately, reducing HVAC runtime when spaces are unoccupied. The fingerprint-resistant glass surface gives it a clean, professional appearance. Sized at 5.6 inches wide and 0.91 inches deep, the thermostat is built for straightforward wall installation. It is specifically engineered to work with Friedrich FreshAire PVH PTACs and VRP Vert-I-Pak units to unlock their full inverter capabilities. Licensed HVAC technicians and facility maintenance teams are the primary installers.
This thermostat is suited for hotels, schools, offices, and multi-dwelling units (MDUs) where room occupancy is irregular and energy management is a priority. The VRPXEMWRTB4 operates as a standalone non-networked device or pairs with the EMOCT4 Online Connection Kit, sold separately, for networked energy management. HVAC runtime can be reduced by up to 50 percent through occupancy-based control, delivering measurable utility savings without sacrificing occupant comfort. The unit is finished in black and replaces the VRPXEMWRT2. A white version is also available under part number VRPXEMWRTA4.
Designed for use with Friedrich FreshAire PVH PTAC units and Friedrich VRP Vert-I-Pak units to maximize inverter capabilities. Compatible with the EMOCT4 Online Connection Kit for networked installations. Replaces the VRPXEMWRT2. Also available in white as VRPXEMWRTA4.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified facility maintenance professional. Power down the PTAC or Vert-I-Pak unit before beginning any wiring or mounting work. Follow all applicable local codes and manufacturer pairing instructions for wireless thermostat commissioning. Do not install in locations that obstruct the occupancy sensor field of view, as this will affect occupancy detection accuracy.
