The FRIEDRICH VRPXEMRTB4 is a wired electronic energy management thermostat with an integrated occupancy sensor, designed for installation on Friedrich FreshAire PTAC units and VRP Vert-I-Pak systems. The thermostat combines passive thermal detection and active motion sensing to deliver reliable occupancy readings, cutting HVAC runtime by up to 50 percent when a room is unoccupied. The fingerprint-resistant glass surface and black finish make it a practical fit for commercial and hospitality environments. It ships as a standalone, non-networked device and is also compatible with the Friedrich EMOCT4 Online Connection Kit, sold separately, for networked energy management deployments. Licensed HVAC technicians and facilities engineers are the primary installers.
The VRPXEMRTB4 is intended for commercial and multi-dwelling-unit applications where room occupancy is intermittent or unpredictable. Typical deployment sites include hotels, motels, schools, offices, and MDU properties throughout North America. Multiple energy-saving presets simplify initial commissioning, while a full range of customizable settings allows the thermostat to be tuned to each individual room. The unit works directly with Friedrich FreshAire PTAC and VRP Vert-I-Pak inverter systems to maximize their full inverter capabilities. The white variant of this thermostat is available under part number VRPXEMRTA4. This part replaces the VRPXEMRT2.
Designed specifically for use with Friedrich FreshAire PTAC units and Friedrich VRP Vert-I-Pak inverter systems. Compatible with the Friedrich EMOCT4 Online Connection Kit for networked operation. Also available in white as VRPXEMRTA4. Replaces the VRPXEMRT2.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified facilities engineer. Power down the PTAC or VRP unit completely before disconnecting the existing thermostat or making any wiring connections. Follow the Friedrich installation documentation for low-voltage wiring practices and verify all connections before restoring power. If deploying in a networked configuration, install the EMOCT4 Online Connection Kit per its separate instructions before commissioning the thermostat.
