The FRIEDRICH TCFY3617STANMC is a cased evaporator coil rated at 36000 BTU/h (2.5 to 3 nominal tons) for use with R454B refrigerant. It ships with a factory-installed thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) for accurate refrigerant metering across a range of operating conditions. The cased design provides a ready-to-install enclosure that simplifies ductwork integration and protects the coil assembly during handling. At 17.5 inches wide, it is sized to fit standard residential air handler and furnace configurations. Licensed HVAC technicians install and commission this coil as part of a split-system or packaged cooling application.
This coil is designed for multi-position installation, meaning it can be oriented for upflow, downflow, or horizontal airflow depending on the equipment and space layout. It is suited for residential and light-commercial split-system cooling and heat pump applications where R454B refrigerant is required. The 2.5 to 3 ton capacity range makes it appropriate for mid-sized residential systems. The included TXV eliminates the need to source a separate metering device, reducing installation steps on new work and changeout jobs.
Designed as an OEM-style cased evaporator coil for R454B split-system and heat pump applications in the 2.5 to 3 ton range. Confirm system refrigerant type, tonnage, and cabinet dimensions before installation.
Installation must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power and recover system refrigerant before removing or installing the coil. Verify that the existing line set, refrigerant type, and system capacity match the coil specifications prior to connection. Follow manufacturer instructions and applicable mechanical codes for drain pan, condensate line, and ductwork connections.
