The FRIEDRICH PXSB23020 is an electrical sub base designed for use with 208/230 volt packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC) units rated at 15 or 20 amps. The sub base mounts beneath the PTAC to provide structural stability, prevent tipping, and conceal electrical components including the circuit breaker, power disconnect, and conduit kit. It ships with leveling legs, side filler panels, and mounting brackets for electrical accessories. HVAC technicians and commercial installers use this sub base when a finished, code-compliant electrical enclosure is required at the unit base.
This sub base is suited for hotel, motel, and multi-unit residential installations where wall thickness may be less than 6 inches. It supports a clean installation by routing and hiding all electrical requirements behind a flush-mounted enclosure. The included leveling legs allow for floor-level adjustment, and the side filler panels close gaps between the unit and wall for a finished appearance. It accepts 208/230 volt PTAC units using a 15 or 20 amp plug configuration.
Designed for use with FRIEDRICH 208/230 volt PTAC units that use a 15 or 20 amp plug. Verify plug type and voltage rating of the PTAC unit before ordering.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or licensed electrician familiar with PTAC systems and local electrical codes. Disconnect power to the PTAC circuit at the breaker panel before beginning any work. Ensure the sub base is level before securing the PTAC unit to prevent stress on electrical connections. Follow NEC requirements for branch circuit sizing and disconnect accessibility when routing the conduit kit and power disconnect through the base.
