The FRIEDRICH KEVS16B33A is a 16,200 BTU smart room air conditioner from the Kuhl Series, designed for window or through-the-wall installation in large rooms from 550 to 700 square feet. It runs on 230 volts and uses a Precision Inverter compressor that adjusts speed continuously to match the load, delivering an EER2 of 10.6 and a CEER of 14.4. R32 refrigerant is used in place of R410A for a lower Global Warming Potential. An integrated 3.5 kW electric resistance heat strip provides 10,700 BTU/h of supplemental heat. Licensed HVAC technicians and experienced installers handle this unit in both residential and light commercial settings.
This unit fits standard double-hung windows with opening widths from 27.375 inches to 42 inches. It can also be installed through a wall using a finished rough opening of 15.938 inches high by 26.188 inches wide with a maximum wall depth of 7.375 inches. The slide-out chassis simplifies sleeve-based in-wall installations. A window mounting kit with heavy-duty side curtains is included. The unit replaces the KES16A33A and KES12A33A Kuhl models. Cooling operates across outdoor ambient temperatures of 60 degrees F to 115 degrees F. Controls are managed via the FriedrichLink app, a remote control, or voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Home integration.
Designed as a direct replacement for the KES16A33A and KES12A33A Friedrich Kuhl units. Uses the Friedrich small chassis for window or through-the-wall applications requiring a finished in-wall opening of 15.938 inches high by 26.188 inches wide.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or electrician familiar with 230-volt dedicated-circuit requirements per NEC guidelines. Disconnect and lock out power at the panel before servicing or removing the unit from its sleeve. The slide-out chassis must be fully seated and secured before restoring power. In-wall installations require a structurally sound sleeve and support bracket rated for the 110-pound unit weight.
